Sloane Stephens, Jozy Altidore announce rendezvous on Twitter

Talk about matchmaking: 2017 U.S. Open champion Sloane Stephens and soccer actor Jozy Altidore are engaged.

Both tweeted a news Monday, posting a print and brief message.

Hers said: “Forever yes.” His said: “Forever starts now.”

In further to winning a Grand Slam pretension 1½ years ago, Stephens was the 2018 French Open runner-up and was a member of a 2017 championship U.S Fed Cup team.

The 26-year-old American now is ranked No. 8.

The 29-year-old Altidore has scored 41 goals in 110 general appearances given his U.S. inhabitant group entrance in 2007. He has not played for a U.S. given Oct 2017, when a detriment during Trinidad and Tobago prevented them from subordinate for a 2018 World Cup.

Altidore represented a United States during both a 2010 and 2014 World Cups. His veteran soccer career began in 2006 with Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls. After a seven-year army with veteran clubs in Europe, Altidore returned to MLS in 2015 to play for Toronto FC, assisting lead a group to the joining championship in 2017 and being named MLS Cup MVP.

Altidore and Stephens were childhood friends who reconnected during a start of 2016 and began a relationship.
