MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two of basketball’s biggest names faced off during a University of St. Thomas Sunday in a Kellogg’s Celebrity Crunch Classic game. Not on a court, though on a sidelines as coaches.
Charles Barkley had a few informed faces on his bench, including former Minnesota Timberwolves player, Wally Szczerbiak, and stream Minnesota Viking, Kyle Rudolph.
“It was only a lot of fun to be out here and run adult and down,” Rudolph said.
“Chuck said, ‘Just run adult and down a small bit and make a few threes,’” Szczerbiak added.
Although Kyle Rudolph is famous for his basketball skills, spectators shortly satisfied he has some dark basketball talents as well.
“Deep inside of me there’s a basketball player, and to be means to come here currently and let that basketball actor out a small bit – it was a lot of fun,” Rudolph said.
Several sweepstakes winners were also given a event to play alongside a star-studded teams. University of St. Thomas tyro Jack Sowada won a competition only before a diversion securing a mark on Shaq’s roster.
“He gave me a cuddle pre game. we was kind of shaken and it felt like we was hugging a section wall,” Sowada said.
In a end, Barkley’s team, Team Pringles, pulled off a feat by 3 points and Kyle Rudolph was named MVP of a match.
