Ravens set to accommodate with free-agent descent tackle Austin Howard

Looking to supplement knowledge and abyss to their descent line, a Ravens are set to perform tackle Austin Howard on a free-agent visit.

Howard, who was expelled by a Oakland Raiders on Jul 28 and spent about 2½ months on a Ravens use patrol during a 2011 season, is now in Baltimore, according to sources.

The 6-foot-7, 330-pound descent lineman started 39 games over a past 3 seasons with a Raiders after they sealed him to a five-year, $30 million understanding before a 2014 season.

Howard, 30, had medicine to correct a ripped labrum and rotator slap in January. He played by those injuries final season.

New York Jets sealed him off a Ravens use patrol in Nov 2011 and he started each diversion for them during right tackle in both 2012 and 2013 before relocating on to a Raiders.

If a Ravens pointer Howard, he’d approaching contest with James Hurst for a starting right tackle job. The Ravens didn’t supplement a proven NFL tackle in giveaway group after starter Rick Wagner sealed with a Detroit Lions.

Howard is also versatile adequate to play guard.
