THE BORDEN AX MURDERS OCCURRED ON THIS DAY IN 1892. In a gruesome scene, Andrew Jackson Borden, a rich area merchant, was found hacked to genocide in a parlor of his Fall River, Massachussetts home. The physique of his second wife, Abby Durfee Borden, lay upstairs. Lizzie Andrew Borden, who was home during a time, detected her father’s body. She was arrested and attempted for a murders, though a miss of plain justification opposite her led to Borden’s contingent acquittal. Debate over her ignorance and ground has raged ever since.

PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY WAS BORN ON THIS DAY 1792. The heading English Romantic producer was self-exiled from England due to a antagonistic accepting of his radical views. He lived in Italy from 1818 until his genocide during sea off a seashore of Viareggio, only a month before his 30th birthday in 1822. Shelley’s critical works embody “Ozymandias,” published in 1818; “Ode to a West Wind,” “The Cloud,” “To a Skylark” and “Prometheus Unbound” in 1819; and “Adonais” (an groan for John Keats) in 1821.

WALTER PATER WAS BORN ON THIS DAY IN 1839. The censor and narrator who, in such works as “The Renaissance” and “Marius a Epicurean,” articulated a “arts for art’s sake” truth that was pivotal to a Pre-Raphaelite and Aestheticism movements. Such late 19th-century aesthetes as Oscar Wilde were shabby by Pater’s writings. Pater was innate in London in 1894.
