Justin Thomas Overtakes Dustin Johnson as World’s No.1 Golfer

Thomas shot a final turn 66 to finish during -11 and pass Johnson.

After a 15-month reign, Dustin Johnson is no longer a world’s No. 1 golfer. Justin Thomas shot a final-round 66 to finish during 11 underneath during a Player’s Championship and will pass Johnson for a best golfer in a PGA tour.

Johnson hold a pretension given Feb. 19, 2017, though Thomas, Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth and Justin Rose all had chances to unseat him during The Player’s Championship.

“It really means a lot,” Johnson pronounced when asked about a ranking before Sunday’s round. “I wish to stay there. we feel like I’ve worked tough to keep a No. 1 position, though I’m going to have to go out tomorrow and play good if we wish to stay there.”

Johnson finished tied for 17 for a week during 10 under, though Thomas’s one cadence advantage was only adequate to acquire a ranking.
