Cubs’ Carl Edwards Jr.: Picks adult service win Sunday

Edwards (2-0) snagged a win in service Sunday opposite a Rockies. He pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, permitting a sole strike and distinguished out two.

With Cubs starter Jake Arrieta going only 4.1 innings, Edwards came on in a fifth and pitched well. He’s been utterly effective for Chicago this season, as Edwards is now sporting a 1.07 ERA and 0.75 WHIP to go along with 36 strikeouts in 25.1 innings. Edwards will continue pitching in a setup role, though he could be an choice for saves if Wade Davis has to skip any time.
